Swave Brand

Swave Brand is a Ugandan footwear manufacturer based in Kampala, producing locally made shoes ranging from leather sneakers and casual footwear to sandals, school shoes, and protective boots. The brand combines local manufacturing with a growing retail presence, offering footwear for different everyday and professional needs.

Brave Cat Digital was responsible for the complete design and development of Swave Brand’s Shopify e-commerce website in 2022. Rather than customizing an existing Shopify template, we designed and developed an entirely custom theme from scratch, giving the brand its own visual identity and storefront experience.

The design process began with three distinct website concepts, giving the client different creative directions to choose from. Once the preferred concept was selected, we developed it into a fully functional Shopify store with custom page layouts, organized product collections, and detailed product pages presenting available styles, sizes, and materials. The design was built to showcase the footwear clearly while keeping product browsing, cart management, and checkout straightforward across desktop and mobile devices.

An important part of the development was making the store accessible to customers in different markets. We implemented multilingual functionality and location-based currency conversion, allowing visitors to browse the website in different languages and view product prices in their local currency based on their geographic location.

The completed project delivered a custom-designed Shopify storefront with a fully developed shopping experience, multilingual support, and localized pricing. Unlike a standard theme-based Shopify setup, Swave Brand was built around its own design direction and requirements, combining custom storefront development with the flexibility of Shopify’s e-commerce platform.
